Getting inspired by real people with successful online jobs

After reading through my extensive lists of online work from home ideas (as well as my tips and advice for working for yourself), you may be having mixed emotions. On one hand, I’ve shown to you that there are plenty of creative and fun ways to generate passive income online, and any one of them have the potential to free you from the drudgery of working for other people for the rest of your life.

On the other hand, some of that may seem too good to be true. After all, if it were as easy as we make it sound, everyone would be doing it – right? True. Working at home for yourself is hard work, but not any harder than working a normal 40 hour a week job. The reason why very few find success is because most lack the motivation and commitment to follow it all the way through to the very end. You’ve got to stick with it through the ups and downs if you’re determined to make it work.

Getting inspired by others is a great way to keep yourself going when things get tough. You can’t let yourself get into a feeling of hopelessness when things aren’t going your way, and it’s important to keep your eye on the prize. That’s what separates the successful entrepreneurs from the non-successful.

Examples of normal people who have created successful online businesses

Ben Schlappig: Ben is a mid 20’s guy who makes a pretty good living traveling around the world in first class (and blogs about it).

Frank: Frank began trading stocks with $1000 while in college. Today, in his early 40’s, he’s trading from home with a multi-million dollar account.

Pat Flynn: Pat was a young architect who was laid off from his position in 2007. Today, he’s earning over $50,000/mo with affiliate marketing and blogging.

Anthony Bourdain: Yes, that guy that you see all over the Food Network, the Travel Channel, and CNN. Did you know that he was basically an unknown everyday guy before he decided to follow his true passion in life? He was just an overworked and stressed out New York City chef who spent his evenings and weekends writing a book. That book ultimately launched his super-star career.

These are just a handful of examples of ordinary people who have made the conscious decision to take their lives into their own hands and create their own financial independence source. Some did it by creating services that they sell to others, while others have built an empire of passive-income generating projects that provides a consistent and dependable money stream.
