I recently wrote about how easy it is to set up a simple blog or website and monetize it with Google Adsense, and I still stand firm about it being one of the best online jobs in existence today. It’s a fast, easy, and very effective way of putting extra money in your pocket each month, unrivaled by nearly any other method out there. Working at your own pace and writing about things you actually have an interest in makes it tough to choose any other way to make a living online.
Although you may have a deep interest in the topic of your blog/website, creating content for it takes dedication, time, and commitment – things that many of us don’t have. Especially when it comes to part time projects like this that can interfere with other things that we have going on! It’s not easy to carve out time in our daily lives to produce good content and creative burn-out is one of the top reasons why many bloggers give up so early.
If you suffer from a lack of motivation (or available free time), there’s still a great way to build your website: outsource it! Take advantage of the plethora of online freelancer websites such as upwork.com to find a person (or team of people) to create content for you. Heck, you can even go as far to outsource everything – right down to having the website set up and hosted for you, along with all the maintenance and updates. Depending on how much you are willing to spend on freelancers up front, you can basically never have to actually touch the website at all.
Managing others is not easy, so you need to be a natural leader in order to manage time and tasks effectively.
Start up costs
Hiring others to create content for you will not be cheap – as a matter of fact, this is one of the most expensive online job ideas I’ve written about so far. Your start up costs will be high, but you can recoup that investment over time as your blog / website starts to generate income.
How big can you dream? If your content is good, you will naturally generate more traffic. More traffic = more income. Be careful about generating that traffic, though. The most proven method for doing this is by creating very good unique content. Stay away from the hacks and tricks and focus on finding really good freelancers who know how to write. Doing that will pay off over time – guaranteed.
Outsourcing a blog or website is a great part time job for anyone who prefers to manage things as opposed to creating content. It’s still a lot of work to tell others what to do and how to do things, but some people are more natural leaders compared to others – and this is a natural fit if you fall into that category.
