Affiliate is probably one of the easiest (and best) online part time jobs available right now. If you aren’t totally sure what it is, don’t worry – it’s not that complicated! The basic premise is this: you advertise a specific product or service on your website or blog, and if a reader clicks the link and makes a purchase, you will make a commission on the sale. How easy is that?
Setting this up as an online part time job is very simple, and here is a basic list of steps describing one way of setting it up:
- Create a blog on wordpress.com or blogger.com (blogs are excellent resources for anyone with an online job).
- Create an affiliate account at amazon.com, then choose some products you’d like to promote. You can promote nearly any product on Amazon, which makes it a really good affiliate to partner with.
- Write a review or detailed description of the product(s) on the blog you created in step #1, and include the affiliate link(s) that Amazon provided you with.
- Promote your blog through facebook or twitter, with links to your reviews.
That’s it! All of this should take no more than 30 minutes, and if you’re lucky, readers will click your links and make purchases.
You just need a blog, and an affiliate account – amazon and Commission Junction are two good affiliates.

The best affiliate programs for online part time jobs
At the time of this writing, one of the best (highest paying) affiliate programs are credit cards. That’s how Ben Schlappig makes a living. Anyway, there are two reasons for this. First of all, credit cards are usually free – so that means that you’ll likely have a lot of success getting people to sign up for a card (the credit card companies will pay you for each sign-up). Second, the referral payments are really good – you could potentially earn up to $400 for each sign up! There is a catch though: you need a blog with high traffic, otherwise, they will not want to partner with you.
The ease of setup and potential earnings make affiliate marketing an ideal part time online job for anyone.
